Heck yes! This book brought me back to what I love about this series…great romance, hilarious situations and competition. Books three and four in this series were really disappointing…especially three, but this book reminded me of everything I absolutely loved about the first two. I could not get enough and devoured this book in two sittings. If you like fun, fast-paced, steamy NA books, then this series in most defiantly one you should pick up!

First off, I love the plots of these books. I love watching reality TV shows, but now I love to read about them even more! This book focuses on a Suvivor-esque show called Endurance Island. The challenges they had to complete were exciting and realistic. My one complaint is the weird, convenient twists Clare adds to push the plot forward. I didn’t find this in the first three books, but the fourth had one and so did this one. {Spoiler} This one being that they must compete in the nude. It just felt weird, and as far as I know, has not been done on Survivor before. But other than that, I loved the reality TV aspect. {End Spoiler}

I really enjoy the writing style that Clare has. It is easy and fun, which makes reading these books go really fast. I also love the first paragraph of every chapter, which is in the guy’s perspective…amazing! I do wish that maybe in future books, Clare would do alternating chapters because sometimes those small paragraphs are not enough. If readers got a chance to delve deeper into them male characters POV, it might add to their character development.

I really loved the characters in this one! Like I have stated in some of my other reviews for this series, it seems like the main protagonist in all her books are the same. The average girl, who does not think she is attractive, but ends up getting the amazingly hot guy in the end. I do find it somewhat annoying, but I like the character…even if she is in every single book, just with a different name. What I LOVE are the men! They all differ so much and Jendan was amazing! I liked that he was the nice guy, but still had some cute banter with Annabelle. I thought he was a little too perfect, but I still loved him anyway.

Overall, I would most defiantly recommend this book…and the first two in the series. I really don’t think it matters if you skip books because when the characters make appearances in the previous books, usually it is pretty vague (except Jendan did have a pretty big part in the third book). If you like cute NA reads, pick this one up…it is great for summer! I will be picking up any other books that happen to come along in this series (I hope a lot more!) and am hoping to branch out to some of Clare's other books.

Body Games Games series Book 5 edition by Jessica Clare Jill Myles Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I cannot express adequately how much I love this series. The heroines always manage to learn something about themselves as they make their way to their happy endings through the swamp of reality TV. And its their journeys that I'm attracted to because I am not a fan of reality TV in real life.

Annabelle, the heroine of this installment agrees with me. She appeared in a season of "Endurance Island" and learned only after the series began to air that she had been victim of the "bad edit." The show portrayed her as a ditzy, love struck pawn of that season's winner Kip. She ends up having to drop out of school because of all the negative attention she receives from viewers who think what the show depicted was the real her. She takes a waitressing job to pay off her school loans and tries to keep what's left of her dignity. So when the show calls her to ask if she will appear in the all stars version of the show and dangles a hefty appearance fee in front of her, she reluctantly decides to try playing their game again. But this time with her eyes wide open.

She really grows as a person, realizing that she has to control her own message and image. As she tells the lovely man she meets on the show, nothing they do on the island is real. She's there to get back what was taken from her and to create a new image of herself. And hopefully come home with enough money to get out of debt.

The romance was very sweet, and the revenge she wreaks on Kip is perfect. She shows herself to be an intelligent woman who learns from her mistakes and ultimately gets what she deserves. A happy ending with a man who respects her. And don't we all want that?
The latest book in The Games series, Body Games, was great! This is one of my favorite authors and just one of the series she writes that I can't get enough of.
Body Games takes us back to "Endurance Island", this time it's Power Players, (think Survivor all-stars). Players from past seasons of Endurance Island, House Guests (similar to Big Brother) and The World Races (the Amazing Race), come together for their chance to win it all.
We first met Jendan in Bedroom Games where, alas he lost out on the prize money by coming in second. Now with a second chance, he's hoping this time that the nice guy can finally claim the prize.
Annabelle, did not have the best time on last seasons Endurance Island. She made the mistake of falling hard for the pretty boy, and ended up being played by him and made to look a fool by some creative editing. She wants a chance to show everyone who she really is, play a no nonsense game, and stick it to the pretty boy, Kip, and if she happens to win, more the better.
This season promises to be harder, and have more twists than the previous ones. The players find this out as they first hit the beach and are immediately put into teams of two, and of course Annabelle is paired with her nemesis Kip. Then the first twist is revealed, and it's a doozy. Their "uniforms" are revealed. Taking the game to a whole different level.
This was such a fun book. A quirky take on "reality" TV, told with lots of laughs, and characters you can't help but fall in love with. If you haven't read the other books in the series I would highly recommend them. Starting with Wicked Games.
